Sayaji Hotel Wakad Appoints Rakesh Rane as Revenue Manager

A strategic revenue leadership transition has taken place at Sayaji Hotel Wakad, an upscale business hotel in Pune, with the appointment of Rakesh Rane as Revenue Manager. The move comes as the property sharpens its commercial focus in one of Maharashtra’s most competitive micro-markets, where corporate demand, IT corridor activity and weekend leisure traffic intersect.

The appointment reinforces the hotel’s intent to strengthen structured pricing governance and demand forecasting amid rising supply in the Wakad–Hinjewadi belt.

Career Foundation

Rane’s professional journey began in operational departments that exposed him to the mechanics of reservations and front office coordination, where room inventory management intersects directly with guest service delivery. Early assignments across city hotels in Pune provided firsthand exposure to transient demand cycles and corporate contracting patterns.

His career expanded into multi-brand environments including The Orchid Hotel Pune and Radisson SPA and Resort Lonavala, where exposure to both urban and resort formats sharpened his understanding of seasonality, event-driven pricing and distribution channel calibration. Working across different ownership models helped him align revenue strategy with operational realities and cost structures.

Subsequent roles with Crowne Plaza Pune City Center and Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport deepened his experience in structured forecasting systems and global brand compliance frameworks, strengthening his command over revenue reporting and yield management processes.

Most Recent Role and Key Achievements

Before joining Sayaji Hotel Wakad, Rane was associated with Radisson Blu Pune Hinjewadi, operating in a highly competitive corporate hub. In that environment, revenue performance hinged on accurate segmentation and dynamic rate positioning across weekday-heavy demand patterns.

He led initiatives centred on calibrated pricing structures, structured demand analysis and technology-backed forecasting. His ability to integrate data insights with cross-department collaboration contributed to measurable gains in occupancy quality and average daily rate consistency. Operating within large inventory hotels required disciplined channel management and refined inventory controls to maintain RevPAR growth in fluctuating market conditions.

His hands-on involvement in system migrations, pre-opening frameworks and SOP alignment further strengthened his reputation for building revenue processes that are sustainable rather than reactive.

Education and Professional Competencies

Rane’s academic training laid the foundation for his analytical approach to hospitality revenue strategy. His structured understanding of finance and operational workflows translates into effective demand modelling and pricing discipline.

He demonstrates advanced proficiency across hospitality systems including Opera, Fidelio, Holidex, SAP, INNKEYS, Synxis, WINHMS, RevTOOLS and Delphi, enabling him to align distribution, forecasting and reporting with commercial objectives.

Scope of New Role

At Sayaji Hotel Wakad, Rane will oversee revenue planning, pricing architecture and inventory governance, working closely with sales and operations teams to enhance commercial alignment. The Wakad–Hinjewadi corridor continues to see increasing branded supply, making disciplined yield management essential for sustained profitability.

His mandate includes refining segmentation strategies, maximising RevPAR and ensuring that distribution channels are optimised for both business and leisure demand segments. The hiring decision signals the hotel’s emphasis on structured, data-backed revenue leadership rather than tactical rate adjustments.

Commenting on his appointment, Rakesh Rane said, “I am excited to join Sayaji Hotel Wakad at a time of strong growth potential. I look forward to implementing innovative revenue strategies that enhance financial performance while delivering exceptional guest experiences.”

The appointment positions Sayaji Hotel Wakad to strengthen its competitive standing within Pune’s evolving hospitality landscape.
