Travel protocols have been further eased in Mauritius. The Mauritius Government has now relaxed isolation rules for fully vaccinated international visitors. As per updated rules, visitors will now be required to spend only seven days in a special ‘resort bubble’ hotel instead of 14 days, as required earlier. This updated travel rule is coming into effect from September 1.

The Maldives has been able to carry out successful vaccination rollouts, and vaccinate its 63 percent of population with the first dose of vaccine, while 56 percent of the island nation stands fully vaccinated.

The Director of Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) stated that this is a major leap toward the full reopening of its borders on October 1, when vaccinated international travelers will be allowed to enter without any constraint. He also added that visitors who are able to provide a negative PCR test taken in the 72 hours before boarding the flight will be able to explore the island freely upon arrival.

However, unvaccinated travellers who wish to travel toMauritius, will be required to complete a 14-day quarantine period in a designated quarantine hotel.
