Uttarakhand tourism relief package insufficient, opine tourism professionals

A day after the Uttarakhand government announced a relief package of Rs. 29 crore for the tourism sector, people from the tourism industry in Dehradun and all over the state said that the amount being provided is not at all adequate for the losses that they have underwent in recent times.

Uttarakhand is known for its popular tourist spots and Dehradun remains one of its most visited destinations. However, in the last couple of months, the tourism industry in Uttarakhand and Dehradun had witnessed declining tourist numbers with revenue slashes. The state is hoping for a tourist comeback, especially domestic tourists once the pandemic situation becomes better. In such a situation, Uttarakhand governments announcement of a relief package of Rs. 29 crore has disconcerted the tourism players.
