Sales data from Oasis Travel Network indicates that the travel boom many hoped for has begun.

The host agency's sales in March were 20% higher than March 2019 sales, according to Oasis CEO Lee Smolinski. That is particularly encouraging as 2019 was Oasis' best year on record.

A particular highlight: Oasis is up 533% in sales with one of its preferred river cruise partners.

"We are seeing these types of increases across the board," Smolinski said in a release. "People are excited to be planning vacations again."

Oasis members have found that clients are interested in destinations that are open to travelers now and in bucket-list trips for 2022. Interest in summer 2021 cruises has not yet returned to pre-pandemic levels.

Popular destinations right now include Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean, according to Oasis, which expects to see continued growth in the second quarter of 2021.
