Outrigger Hospitality Group announced today two key executive appointments,  Steve Miller as the new General Manager of Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort and Cesar Herrera as the company’s Vice President of Design and Construction.

Miller takes the helm at the iconic beachfront Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort as the new GM, to deliver exceptional guest experiences while ensuring operational profitability, host engagement and development.

Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort is home to some of Hawaii’s most recognised dining and entertainment venues – including Duke’s Waikiki, Hula Grill, Sunrise Shack, Pai’s Deli and Blue Note Hawaii.

Miller brings extensive management experience and a successful record of running resorts under various brands.

Prior to joining Outrigger, Miller was the General Manager at Westin/Sheraton Birmingham in Alabama and was a GM at Hyatt Regency Birmingham, Marriott Clearwater Beach, Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa, Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa as well as the Beverly Heritage Hotel. His early hospitality career began with Hyatt Hotels Corporation where he worked his way up from Assistant Executive Housekeeper to Front Officer Manager to Regional Executive Assistant Manager.

Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel management from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and an associate degree in hotel and restaurant management from Paul Smith’s College in New York.

Herrera, as the VP of Design and Construction, now oversees all capital projects in Outrigger’s global portfolio of owned and/or managed hotels and resorts, while also providing advisory and supervisory services. This role is key to Outrigger’s strategy for growth and redevelopment in Hawaii, Asia Pacific and the Indian Ocean.

Herrera has broad project experience – from addition and enhancement of assets, to budget development and oversight, conceptual visioning, design coordination, alongside project management and execution from start to finish.

Prior to joining Outrigger, Herrera was VP of Development and Construction for Mina Group out of San Francisco. Before this, he had an 18-year tenure at Kimpton Hotels, starting his career as a Project Engineer, eventually becoming Senior Director of Development and Construction.
