Carbis Bay Hotel has completed a bespoke new orangery to add to its offering, just in time to host the world’s leaders for the G7 Summit, kicking off tomorrow in Cornwall.

The hotel, owned and operated by Stephen and Jose Baker, called in David Sailsbury to design and install the new orangery, which is the latest phase of Carbis Bay Hotel’s refurbishment and investment programme.

The project was completed in record time, with a design in place between the hotel and David Salisbury just five weeks from the initial enquiry.

The David Salisbury installation team began work on site in early January and despite some weather setbacks, completed the new asset in time for the G7 Summit at Carbis Bay from June 11-13.

The hotel’s existing conservatory has been replaced with the new glazed extension, with views across the bay and designed to work all year round.

Alongside the installation of the new orangery, the entrance and roof area of the spa building was updated to present a uniform appearance across the sea-facing facade of the hotel.

Stephen Baker, Owner at Carbis Bay, said: “The eyes of the world will be on Carbis Bay during the summit, and as a leading luxury venue in the area, it is important to use this as an opportunity to highlight Cornwall as a destination for business and for pleasure. For us, that means showcasing our waterside restaurant with breath-taking views of St Ives Bay.

“David Salisbury has helped us deliver on that wish and we’re delighted with the results.”
