Resorts World Las Vegas deals foodies a full house of dining options

A vast selection of Asian-inspired street food in one convenient location and more than a dozen traditional restaurants are planned for the 3,500-key Resorts World Las Vegas when it opens on June 24.

Famous Foods Street Eats, a 24,000-square-foot hall, will boast 16 stalls from top chefs and restaurateurs with cuisines from around the world. The area will also feature a 16-seat center bar and Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den, what promoters are calling a "elegantly grunge speakeasy discretely tucked away."

"Famous Foods will transport guests to an authentic Asian hawker market -- an experience that's never been replicated in the U.S.," said Andrew Li, CEO of Zouk Group, a Singapore nightlife and lifestyle brand.

Among the "Eastern" stalls: Ah Chun Shandong Dumpling, serving traditional dumplings and hand-pulled noodle dishes; Boon Tong Kee, with traditional Hainanese chicken rice, featuring poached tender chicken paired with rice cooked in chicken broth; and Googgle Man's Char Kuey Teow, which uses traditional charcoal-fired stoves to fry noodles to produce a smoky aroma called wok hei, or "dragon's breath."

Among the "Western" stalls: Streetbird Las Vegas, James Beard Award-winning chef Marcus Samuelsson's tribute to fried chicken; Mozz Bar by James Trees (downtown's Esther's Kitchen), an Italian food counter offering fresh mozzarella, burrata, housemade bread and sandwiches; and Blood Bros. BBQ, a critically acclaimed Houston hot spot that will serve classic Texas barbecue with a Chinese and Vietnamese twist.

Resorts World Las Vegas and Zouk Group are also partnering on Zouk Nightclub and AYU Dayclub; RedTail, a social gaming bar with beer pong, darts and billiards; and FUHU, a contemporary Asian dining venue.

"The addition of Famous Foods to Resorts World Las Vegas's culinary portfolio will bring a completely new kind of tasting experience to the Strip," said Bart Mahoney, Resorts World Las Vegas vice president of food and beverage. "We look forward to welcoming many of these concepts to the U.S. for the first time and offering a truly unique dining lineup inspired by Asia's rich history, lifestyle and culture."

Additional dining venues at Resorts World Las Vegas include:

Viva!: Esquire Chef of the Year Ray Garcia's contemporary spin on regional Mexican cuisine.

Genting Palace: Cantonese cuisine, seafood and dim sum presented with old-world glamour.

Kusa Nori: a modern Japanese bistro with a high-energy sushi bar, teppanyaki grills and an extensive selection of sake.

Brezza: upscale and modern coastal Italian fare with pastas, seafood and beef.

Bar Zazu: celebrating the spirit and flavors of Europe through hot and cold tapas; cheese and charcuterie; and sweet and savory pastries.

More casual eateries include Craig's Vegan, with rich, creamy and decadent vegan frozen treats in scoops, pints, sundaes and shakes; Sun's Out Buns Out, offering egg dishes around the clock; Tacos El Cabron, Tijuana-inspired cuisine in a hip, casual setting; Marigold, with burgers, lobsters and housemade desserts; and Richie Palmer's Mulberry Street Pizzeria of Beverly Hills.

Among the planned bars and lounges are Dawg House Saloon & Sportsbook. Far from its original location on Nashville's Music Row, it will feature live music and dancing, draft beers, creative cocktails and classic American pub fare with a Southern twist.

Starlight on 66 will provide expansive views 66 floors above the Strip. Leather couches and artwork from around the world will fill the lounge.

Crystal Bar, on the casino floor, will specialize in handcrafted cocktails and curated spirits under cascading, crystal-shaped pendants.

Also sure to be a magnet for foodies is Wally's Wine & Spirits, a Los Angeles and Hollywood institution that will include a restaurant, wine bar and specialty gourmet market.

The $4.3 billion, 88-acre luxury resort will feature three Hilton brands. A 100,000-square-foot LED screen, affixed to the West Tower, is one of the largest displays in the world.
