The late Hussein Ali Hatata was one of the driving forces behind Saudi-based Al Khozama’s diversified portfolio which includes owning, investing in and operating hotel properties. Sadly, he passed away a few months ago.

Hailing from humble beginnings, Hatata joined the Hotel Al Khozama in Riyadh in 1978 as a room attendant and since then rose  through the ranks of the Saudi hospitality industry.

In 2018, the company was recognised by the World Travel Awards and was awarded the prize for the leading luxury hospitality operator in Saudi Arabia.

At the awards Hatata had said: “Being recognised once again is indeed a great compliment to Al Khozama, our team, the owners, all our investors and shareholders. We work with the finest partners within the Kingdom.”

With Saudi aiming to increase its tourism sector by 2030, the group believes that they are well-equipped to handle the new wave of change.
