OTO Development today announced the opening of the fully remodeled and rebranded Hampton Inn by Hilton Key West, part of Hilton’s global upper-midscale brand. The renovated hotel is OTO Development’s first presence in Key West.
“Hampton Inn by Hilton Key West takes pride in providing our guests with a memorable travel experience backed by the latest innovations and amenities in hospitality,” said Danielle Vaughn, general manager. “These renovations demonstrate our commitment to guest satisfaction and alignment with the standards of this category-leading brand.”
The Spartanburg, South Carolina-based hotel development and management company acquired the former Best Western Key Ambassador Resort Inn in September 2018, planning to remodel and rebrand the hotel. The property underwent an extensive renovation, including taking all 101 rooms down to the studs and rebuilding them.
“When we purchased this property, we had a very distinct vision of what we could bring to Key West with our relationship with the Hampton by Hilton brand,” said Corry Oakes, CEO of OTO Development. “It’s great to see that vision come to life, and we look forward to introducing this brand into such a highly desirable travel market.”
In addition to guest room renovations, the project included updates to the hotel’s swimming pool and the poolside Cheekie Hut bar and grill; the parking lots were resurfaced; a new fitness center was added; and the lobby was completely renovated. Every Hampton by Hilton guest will enjoy the brand’s signature free, hot breakfast with healthy options; On the Run™ breakfast bags; and free Wi-Fi in every room. Hampton continues to lead the pack in terms of guest experience, with Hampton by Hilton Team Members committed to delivering friendly and authentic service, backed by the industry-leading 100% Hampton Guarantee™.
Located at 3755 S. Roosevelt Boulevard, the new hotel is convenient to Key West International Airport as well as many of the island’s feature attractions. The hotel has added a complimentary shuttle to take guests to and from the airport and to many of the island’s top draws, including Mallory Square, Old Town, the Hemingway House and Duval Street.
OTO Development, part of The Johnson Group, worked with general contractor Marino Construction Group and architect Thomas E. Pope, PA, both local Key West companies, to design and construct the renovations over the course of approximately 14 months.
