The month of November has opened with a forward-looking global cruise ship orderbook that continues to extend to 2027 and includes at least 117 new cruise ships, despite several deliveries during the month of October.

The Carnival Panorama, Norwegian Encore and MSC Grandiosa were all delivered from their respective shipyards in late October, leaving the Costa Smeralda set for a December delivery from Meyer Turku. 

Other orderbook adjustments include new names for ships, including Ritz-Carlton's Evrima, the AIDAcosma and the Discovery Princess, while MSC has confirmed its first 2022 World-class vessel will carry the name MSC Europa.

The average size of ships on order is 85,192 tons with capacity for 2,162 guests. The average cost is approximately $584,000,000.

Thirty-nine different cruise brands are building new ships, involving 21 shipyards.

There are 26 LNG-fueled ships on order, six ships being allocated to the Chinese market, and 34 expedition vessels.

Carnival Corporation brands represent 18 ships on the orderbook, followed by Royal Caribbean Cruises at 17 ships, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings with 10, and MSC Cruises with 12.

On a brand level, MSC has the biggest growth planned of all, with 44,496 berths on the orderbook, followed by Royal Caribbean International with 30,362 berths.
