Durham took a man into custody Wednesday night after he barricaded himself in a hotel room, police said.
People staying at the Extended Stay Hotel on Tower Road in Durham told WRAL's Rosalia Fodera police came to their door and told them they had to evacuate. They also said the hotel’s power was cut.
A call came in around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday regarding the situation. Officials said it ended around 9:30 p.m. after negotiators talked the man to come out. There were no injuries. Officials said he was a fugitive with numerous felony warrants.
