Payne joins Destination Residences Hawaii with an extensive career in resort leadership. As general manager, Payne oversees the management and operation of properties in the Kona-Kohala portfolio, comprising Mauna Lani Point, The Islands at Mauna Lani, Champion Ridge, estate home management at The Cape at Mauna Lani, and association management throughout Mauna Lani Resort, including The Residences of Laule'a.

Prior to his role at Destination Residences Hawaii, Payne served in senior leadership positions for luxury resorts and private clubs in Mexico, Colorado, Oregon and Hawaii. On Maui, Payne assisted with the launch of Montage Kapalua Bay, leading the resort through the transition from a distressed property into one of Hawaii's premier luxury destinations. Most recently, Payne worked with Sunriver Resort in Bend, Oregon,

where he was active in leading the charge in sustainability efforts by forming a dedicated committee on the topic, and also spent time at The Sebastian Vail in Vail, Colorado.
