The new-look Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay is a masterpiece of biophilic design, boasting 370 sq m of lush gardens, a 13-metre-high green wall and a four-storey sky bridge over the forest canopy.

Formerly known as Marina Mandarin, Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay, a Pan Pacific Hotels Group property, has just emerged from a phased S$45 million renovation with a striking focus on sustainability.

Singapore’s new eco-paradise

Located in the heart of Singapore’s Marina Bay area, the 21-storey hotel has been reshaped to incorporate a standout indoor lobby garden, which includes 370 sq m of lush gardens, a 13-metre-high green wall and over 2,400 trees, scrubs and groundcovers. Guests can make the most of this experience by traversing a four-storey Sky Bridge above the lush forest canopy, or from specially designed pavilions inspired by birds’ nests.

Elsewhere, the hotel’s eco-focused concept touches everything from new water-filter systems and glass water bottles to the guest amenities, which are packaged in biodegradable materials. The restaurants’ food waste, too, is broken down by a food digester into nutrient water for the garden.

A culinary haven for hotel guests

In terms of dining, the hotel is billing itself as a culinary haven, with standout options including the newly revamped Peppermint (formerly AquaMarine), which specialises in plant-based dishes using ingredients from its urban farm; Peach Blossoms, a Cantonese dining room from chef Edward Chong; and the Atrium Lounge, a revamped garden oasis serving up signature cocktails and more than 90 expressions of whisky.

For those looking to tap into the hotel’s wellness offerings, meanwhile, there’s a new state-of-the-art gym with a range of fitness classes on offer, as well as a mineral-water swimming pool, which transforms into a galaxy-themed pool at night thanks to its 1,380 fibre optic lights. And coming soon is a club lounge that should prove ideal for taking in Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay views.
