With its lush landscapes, bustling cities and picturesque beach hideaways, South Korea is a tempting escape during the hot Middle East summer. Cathay Pacific has made it easier than ever to visit this Eid by teaming up with the Korean Tourism Organisation to offer a series of special fares to three destinations, starting from just AED 2,535.

Travellers can immerse themselves in the rich history of capital Seoul; while away a long weekend exploring the coastline of Jeju Island; or head to the port city of Busan, gateway to some of the most spectacular mountain and beach scenery in South Korea.

The South Korean capital is an electrifying contrast of old and new, with modern skyscrapers towering above ancient temples and 14th Century palaces, and a rich food scene that encompasses some of the best flavours in Asia. The country’s largest theme park, Everland, is offering Cathay Pacific passengers 20 per cent discount on entry with the presentation of boarding passes. On the southeast corner of the Korean Peninsula, Busan is a bustling port city that provides easy access to beaches, mountains and a wealth of outdoor activities. The city is just 30 minutes from the former capital of Gyenongju, where ancient temples, lakes and pagodas will transport visitors to another era. Some 200 kilometres away, Jeju Island is home to a dramatic landscape of rugged coastline, volcanic craters and the 1,950m summit of Hallasan volcano. Look out for picturesque beaches and waterfalls on scenic hikes and brave the cavernous depths of the Geomunoreum lava tube, one of the spectacular natural sites that make Jeju a UNESCO World Heritage site. “Seoul has long been a popular entry destination for travellers looking to explore South Korea. With the growing popularity of Korean cuisine, cinema and music in recent years, demand for flights to different cities in South Korea continues to increase. Travellers that decide to delve a little deeper in their explorations are rewarded by a wealth of sights and experiences across the country, making it a destination that truly deserves ‘must visit’ status this summer,” said Anand Yedery, regional head of marketing & sales, Cathay Pacific.

The promotional fares are available until August 15th for travel until November 30th. Cathay Pacific operates two daily flights from Dubai and one daily service between Dubai and Bahrain, with onward connections to South Korea and more than 200 other destinations through its dedicated terminal at Hong Kong International Airport.
