A new Hotel Indigo property, featuring striking interiors by Venezuelan-born designer Angel Sanchez of Sanchez + Coleman Studio, has started welcoming guests in the Magic City.

IHG is celebrating the launch of a hot new scheme in Miami’s happening Brickell neighbourhood.

Hotel Indigo channels Brickell’s cultural scene

Brickell is very much a melting pot of different influences – where the Latin, Native and North American traditions merge together – that neatly encapsulates the modern face of Miami, making it an ideal location for IHG’s boutique lifestyle brand Hotel Indigo. Its latest outpost, Hotel Indigo Miami Brickell, is a design-led property celebrating the beauty in contrasts, leaning on mosaics and stylish tiles to help take guests on a memorable journey.

The hotel’s esoteric interiors are the brainchild of Angel Sanchez of Sanchez + Coleman Studio. They marry the poured concrete and rigid geometric lines of Brutalist architecture with a lively blue-and-yellow colour palette that recurs throughout the hotel, from upholstery and furnishings to feature walls.
A hospitality scheme that embraces Miami’s history

Hotel Indigo is known for its distinctly local offering, regardless of where in the world its properties are situated. Every destination is charming and interesting in its own way, with the brand striving to uncover the secrets of each location, before sharing them with guests.

At Hotel Indigo Miami Brickell, design and culture is one key aspect of the offering, but history is another.

Throughout the property’s 140 guestrooms and suites, visitors can see circular rugs and local artwork that reference the nearby Miami Circle archaeological site, once home to the indigenous Tequesta people. The hotel’s lobby, meanwhile, pays homage to Mary Brickell and Julia Tuttle, who were responsible for bringing the railroad to Miami, through the medium of photography.

In terms of F&B, Mosaico Kitchen and Bar serves up exciting pan-Latin Miami cuisine, courtesy of executive chef Manuel Sulbaran, who comes from Mérida in Venezuela. And Miami’s 248 days of sunshine a year can be soaked up at the sixth-floor pool and sun deck, while health enthusiasts can stay in shape at the 24-hour gym and fitness centre.
