Canadian Hotels Report 23.5 Percent Occupancy for Week Ending December 19th, 2020

STR data for 13-19 December 2020 showed Canada’s hotel industry with slightly lower occupancy compared with the previous week.

13-19 December 2020 (percentage change from comparable week in 2019):

• Occupancy: 23.5% (-44.3%)
• Average daily rate (ADR): CAD106.54 (-22.5%)
• Revenue per available room (RevPAR): CAD25.04 (-56.8%)

Occupancy for previous weeks came in at 24.6% (12 December), 24.7% (5 December), and 25.7% (28 November).

For the week ending with 19 December, British Columbia recorded the highest occupancy level (27.7%) among the provinces.

Among the major markets, Vancouver (26.4%) posted the highest occupancy level. The lowest occupancy among provinces was reported in New Brunswick (16.0%). At the market level, the lowest occupancy was reported in Calgary (14.3%).
