Lake District hotel, The Swan, is to receive a £7m investment for an extensive renovation that will see the business transformed into a new, luxury spa facility.

The hotel at Newby Bridge has recently been added to the BH Group portfolio, who will now invest in creating 30 new bedrooms, and a ‘world-class’ spa after receiving backing from CBRE Global Investors.

The project is set to be completed by summer 2021.

The new spa development will see a new range of facilities introduced, including a hydrotherapy pool, thermal rooms, treatment rooms, plus a café and new relaxation areas.

The new bedrooms would be housed in a new build, with interiors designed by Fiona Parks of Johnstone Park Interiors, who will work to preserve the character of the 17^th-centuy coaching inn but with modern touches.

There will also be 20 full-time and part-time jobs created from the investment alongside an apprenticeship programme.
